Who Is Nakita? As a recent college graduate from Prairie View A&M University, I graduated with 3 offers to dive into the open sea of Corporate America. Debra and I met over the phone, formally introduced through Jamell Fields. So far it has been a pleasure working with her and the rest of the team. It has to be a sea considering all the sharks out there. Even though these were rather large and respected companies, and I was getting offered to be paid more than my big brother and sister combined, I couldn’t fully celebrate. I knew that from approximately January to May, my money would go to the government. What do I mean? I knew that I was going to be Taxed Solely as an employee, therefore I Must Pay Uncle Sam first, and then the crumbs left over, and I would get to pay my bills and other expenses. I knew that if I wanted to be wealthy, it would take me so long at this rate. Why did I want to be wealthy? My father just getting over beating cancer, I want make sure he has the best doctors and health care. My sister, always sick, I wanted to be able to either employ her or engage her in one of my businesses, so that she could dig herself out of the rat race. My mother, with bad knees, I would take care of her. I wanted to be able to help pay for my nephew’s expenses, as well as save for his college education. Even though I like my job, I hate to get up in the morning, when I don’t know if its night or morning, its so early, drive to work, and fight fires all day. I'm so thankful for Traverus! I am now working towards getting my time back, and gaining financial independence.
